Going Back To The Office: How To Get Work From Home Vibes At The Office

Have you gone back into the office yet? If you’re still on the 9-5 train like me I’ve realized how important to make the space I spend most of my time as comfortable as possible. I really wasn’t a decorate your cubicle type of person besides a cute picture of my nieces and nephews and a plant if it stayed alive. Since I’ve come a little more settled at work I’ve begun to want to spruce up my cubicle make it a space I look forward to coming to everyday. I want to at least enjoy my time at work each day. I do not want to wish my days away like I had in the past. 

I work in a restrictive space so I can’t do all I want to do but I’m going to find some cute alternatives….

1. A cozy blanket. I want something lux, chunky knit is what I’m thinking and soft. I also want it to be beautiful.
2. Wall art. I want something inspiring that reminds me of where I am headed. 
3. Flowers. I have spied this pink peony arrangement on amazon that I would like to add to my desk. I am also thinking of getting a small snake plant to add some greenery to the space
4. Color coordinated desk accessories. For this I’m thinking maybe goal accents like a pin holder and file organizer
5. I’m getting my snack and essential drawer stocked. In the past I would add a few things here and there if I had extra at home. I plan to make restocking my work drawer a biweekly/monthly thing. I noticed that I spend less in the snack machine or running to the convenience store in the afternoon for a 3 pm pick me up. I can also keep healthy snacks like nuts, jerky, protein bars, and water. This will keep me from crashing at 5 and being super tired and wanting to skip the gym.
6. A cute stainless steel mug. I cant have a coffee warmer or a mini fridge so my next best option is a stainless steel mug that will keep my drinks warm or cold for long periods of time
7. A marble dry erase memo board to keep the sticky notes. I think it would also be fun to pick a quote or thought of the week.

Pictures to come once I get it all together. Since I am still on the hunt. Some of the items may change. I think I’m going for a french coffee house theme. If your on the fence about adding a little fun to your office just think about how happy it will make you to come into a space that feels like you. It will make the day that much more enjoyable. Instead of sitting in a drab box all day turn it into the place you’d rather be.
