3 + 1 Books You Should Add To Your Winter TBR!

Cracking open a new book and getting lost in a story was one of my favorite pastimes when I was younger. As the years rolled on I picked up maybe one fiction book a year but felt like reading was just a waste of my time. After listening to The Thing About Home by Rhonda McKnight I was sold. The story was so good. Its about a young woman who is left at the alter by her husband and from the aftermath of what happened with her husband she goes on a journey to find her fathers side of the family. A family she never got to meet. It’s a modern fiction with a bit of historical fiction rolled with in. What made me want to listen to the story was its setting in a small southern town near my home town. I was delighted once I finished the book and went on a reading binge. I spent the Holiday season lost in various books. And I loved it. Reading was the perfect activity. I was able to unplug from a busy work week and recover from a full social calendar with an activity that allowed my body and mind to relax. I didn’t feel over stimulated. It fit the cozy season and allowed me to snuggle under a warm blanket, sip a warm drink and just rest.
Here are 4 books that will get you into the reading and relaxing mood this winter season.

Set in the 1960’s a Chemist becomes the unlikely host of a beloved cooking show. She encourages women to challenge the status quo. I haven’t read this one yet but I am excited to pick this one up for my February TBR. Not only was it Barnes and Nobles book of the year for 2022 but it has also been turned into a series on AppleTV.
Happy reading friends.
